
"Weavecraft", an exhibition of hand woven and naturally dyed textiles by Avani, was launched at Osho World Galleria, BG - 09, Ansal Plaza, New Delhi on 20th December, 2003.

Avani is a voluntary organization working in the middle ranges of the Central Himalayan region and is involved with various activities mainly aiming at the optimal utilization of available resources to the best possible extent. Among various activities of Avani includes its efforts towards enhancing livelihood opportunities by developing existing craft like spinning, weaving and natural dyeing of wool, introducing new fibres like wild silks and disseminating technology.
Weavecraft range includes purely hand woven, naturally dyed and environment friendly products like shawls, mufflers, stoles, tweed jackets and readymade garments in wool, silk and wool and pure silk; carpets, bed covers, cushion covers and durries. Avani also brings out an entire range of new products of blended fabrics with natural fibers like wool, oak tussar, tussar, mulberry, eri, munga, pashmina, angora and linen.
The moments of creativity are the moments when you are one with the universe. In a way you are lost, you are no more your old ego; in another way you have found yourself for the first time.
