Zorba the buddha festival, as the name suggested was a meeting of Zorba the buddhas - Zorba "Celebration" and Buddha "Meditation". About 45 friends gathered for a three days meditation and celebration at Devalan Lake " House in the woods retreat" from 15 to 17 October 2010. The festival featured Swami Milarepa and his band (Ashik on violin, Chandira on Bass Guitar and Keyboards and Rishi on Drums) and Swami Satya Vedant.
We started from 10:30 am on Friday with Morning satsang meditation where live music took us into silence and meditative space. Five senses meditation followed In the afternoon and then the Kundalini Meditation. We watched Osho in the evening doing stop exercises and a beautiful Osho video discourse on Student-disciple-devotee which was much appreciated by everyone. The evening was concluded with Live White Robe brotherhood.
The next two days had dynamic in the morning and the similar schedule followed, with a variety of Meditations like heart dance & Nataraj Meditation with live music and a sharing session where participants talked about their experiences and Swami Vedant answered queries. The last afternoon was very special with 4 friends being initiated into sannyas in a beautiful celebration.
The camp participants were a mix of first timers and regulars. This was my first exposure with Swami Satya Vedant, although I had participated in Swami Milarepa's Retreat at an earlier occassion. Both of these facilititaors beautifully complimented each other in Harmony. The Joys of Silence and Joys of Celebration were both deeply felt.
I thank myself for deciding to come. For people who did not know about Osho and Could not come, I have nothing to say, but people who knew these two fecilitators were coming and had thought to come, but could not come due to some reason, have missed it all.
I don't know if this combination could ever be possible again, but I wish it happens again.
Swami Murali and Osho chicago team did a great job is organizing everything, they deserve a lot of thanks and future help to organize more events again.
What an amazing weekend! So much love and so much sharing! I could only say "Thank you Osho, Thank you Bhagwan!"
