Mahaparinirvana Day Celebration

After Osho’s father, Swami Devateerth Bharti, left his body, enlightened on September 08, 1979, Osho created an annual festival, the Mahaparanirvana Day, to celebrate all sannyasins, past and future, who have died and will die enlightened. This day is celebrated by all Sannyasins and lovers of Osho all over the world.

With a feeling in their hearts Osho disciples and friends celebrated Mahaparinirvana Day at Osho World Galleria, New Delhi on 5 of September, with an evening Satsang and video documentary. The session was led by Swami Anand Kul Bhushan and Swami Chaitanya Keerti.

Many friends and lovers of Osho were present on this evening of silence and celebration.

We don't call it death, we call it Mahaparinirvana, dissolving into the absolute -- just like an ice cube melting, dissolving into the ocean. He lived in meditation, he died in meditation.
