Sannyas Roundup By Ma Anand Bhagawati

Beloved friends,

The age of the internet never ceases to amaze me. Although I reside on a small island in Southeast Asia, I get news from friends all over the world day by day delivered straight to my desk.  I love being in touch with friends in our caravanserai, so now for all readers of the Osho World newsletter I will share some of the news, stories, and photos on a monthly basis.

Tao lives on Hawaii. She is a minister who conducts unusual and tailor-made island weddings, and people fly in from far-flung places to have her marry them. One of the latest weddings took place in the Hawaii National Volcanoes Park on Hawaii's Big Island. Kilauea is the volcano that is presently active (last activities were in 1987). She said, “At the moment there are 3 vents (of Kilauea) that are going off simultaneously.  And this is the first time in this volcano's or any volcano's history in the world that 3 vents are flowing at the same time. What we are looking at in the photos is the vent in Halema'um'au Crater. The steam which we see rising is caused by the gases being emitted from a pool of molten lava taking place in the crater. The lava pool is not visible from the ground but is visible by air if one wishes to take a helicopter ride. The helicopter over the whole Volcano area is fantastic and very, very thrilling, albeit also very safe.”

What a backdrop and explosive way to start a life together!
And not only that, Tao also is a dedicated horn player! Here you can see her on this recent photo of part of the 4th of July Parade in Kailua-Kona Hawaiia she participated in.

Baul in Holland sent this link to a video that was quite mind boggling to watch! Maybe you would also enjoy seeing this ten minute film – A 3D atlas of the (known) universe:

Madhura lives in Somerset, England with her two cats. You might remember her from Pune 1 days where she worked in the press office, venturing out with Krishna Prem to visit important people like Indira Gandhi, and was also a member of the theatre group. Veena who is in touch with her said that she used to take her brightly colored embroidery with her as she travelled around India.

Embroidery, Madhura says, is her meditation. She creates incredible artwork – a combination of paint on fabric – silk or calico – with embroidery, even though she is presently rather incapacitated by arthritis, which makes her work a bit slower.  She is also a lover of books, books, books, mainly on Taoism, Zen and Chinese and Japanese art.
Veena lovingly put together an album slideshow of her art, home and friends – have a look:

Then click on ‘slideshow’… and then 'full screen'.

If you wish to contact Madhura, she would love to hear from you. madhuradickeson@hotmail.com

Speaking of Pune 1 and press office, Sourabh and Divyananda have helped finalize Krishna Prem’s book, which many of us have been waiting for. It is called ‘Osho, India and Me’ and can be ordered from

My copy arrived yesterday and I am already deeply absorbed reading it! If you have any inquiries please write to  info.allanach@retreatspace.com

Pankaja who continues to travel widely in India and lately also in China, made a beautiful video  about Ramana’s Garden – the orphanage set up by Dwabha-Prabhavati in Rishikesh. You can watch this lovely documentary about the work happening there on www.viemo.com/9700159

If you wish to help Dwabha-Prabhavati in any way with her projects, please write to dwabha@yahoo.com

Geeta turned 90 years old and a beautiful birthday party was held on July 11th in Australia while Geeta herself was celebrating in Holland at the same time. It was a lovely celebration with many friends involved, live music, lots of flowers, cake and champagne. They played a discourse of Osho talking to Geeta over 30 years ago, "Why is it so difficult to expose myself?'" and "Drop the acquired identity and let the individual appear."

Shahido who organized the party with the help of many friends in the local community (Gondwana and Mevlana near Byron Bay) said that it was a great team effort and the best meditation ever working together as a group. “Osho's work is about love, meditation and celebration and we experienced it all thanks to Osho and Geeta.”omigeeta@gmail.com

Curious what is going on in the old UK? Veena and Punya have been publishing the Osho in UK newsletter for five years now and have just recently launched a lovingly revamped newsletter. Enjoy browsing through, lots of articles to read and photos to see! http://www.oshoinuk.com/

And do have a look at Maneesha’s new website; she offers workshops, seminars and sessions in meditation and especially psycho-spiritual support in living and dying.  This is such important help for all those who are slowly approaching the other shore. www.maneeshajames.com

Last but not least here a very special treat: Arjun Bharti from Pune sent this link to a short video showing Anthony Quinn, the actor who played Zorba, and Mikis Theodorakis, the Greek composer.
