Osho is a Universe - Swami Upanishad in Delhi

Shokichi Kina is a famous rock star from Okinawa of Japan - a land that has been witness to a tumultuous history. An Osho disciple, Kina is also known as Swami Upanishad. Shokichi Kina is a charismatic singer, a crusader and an evolved human being who has a message of peace and universal brotherhood. Kina holds a utopian vision of 21st century that will be free from the threat of war and nuclear weapons. He subscribes to the notion that we cannot "simultaneously prevent and prepare for war." He travels around the world to sing his songs healing the wounded humanity. The song that he wrote is called 'Hana' the original version of which was featured by Ry Cooder in 1980. He has been covered ubiquitously by singers across Asia and as far away as Madagascar. 

Together with his band Champloose, he was invited by the Government of India to perform at Siri Fort auditorium in the capital on 12th of February. He has performed many a times at the annual functions in the Osho Commune at Pune. Swami Upanishad was here as a result of the joint efforts of Modi Foundation, Indo-Cultural Study Association, Sanskritik Gaurav Sansthan and World Buddhist Cultural Foundation. He came, he sang and he wowed the media with the message of peace. The Defense Minister Shri George Fernandes welcomed him as this programme was held to mark the golden jubilee of Indo-Japan diplomatic relations.

Swami Upanishad visited the Osho World Galleria along with friends on 13 February and was buoyed to learn about the expansion of Osho's message. He said, "Osho World - One World - One Master." Adding to this he said, "Together all of us will make the Osho message of song, dance and meditation available to the world. Osho is a universe and the whole world needs his message of love, peace and meditation. No person or group can lay claims on this message or copyright it."
