CSIR currently has forty labs and more than 2300 employees. As the chairman of the committee of World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) he has made significant contributions to this field. He has more than 230 published papers to his credit and has the distinction of being a Fellow of Royal Society of London - only three Indian engineers have received this fellowship. For his contribution to science he has also been awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.
