"Son, I just know that you will do the right thing by this little girl," said the preacher. "You just marry her and you will be at the end of your troubles." So he did the right thing and he married the girl. And about six months later, when he saw the preacher again, he tried to murder him. "You miserable liar!" shouted the young man. "You told me if I married her I would be at the end of my troubles. Well, I married her and she has made my life miserable!"
"That may be true, son, but you can't blame me," replied the minister. "I said you would be at the end of your troubles, but I never said which end."

Fountain of Spirituality in the Country of Mountains

Legend has it, that, 1800 years ago, Sant Nagarjun attained to enlightenment at this very place. Small wonder then, that Swami Anand Arun chose this land to build a meditation centre here. Situated amidst the splendid Nagarjuna hills, Osho Tapoban is an oft-frequented place for Osholovers. A short distance from the beautiful Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, Osho Tapoban holds a prominent place among Osho Meditation Centres around the globe.

One of the most active meditation centres, each day in the Tapoban is agog with meditators practising various meditation techniques. A large, open meditation space right in the centre of Tapoban is like a temple to the meditators who come visiting. From dawn to dusk most meditation techniques like Dynamic, Nadabrahma and Kundalini meditation provide the seekers with the peace of mind they are searching for. A typical day ends with Sandhya Satsang - a celebration full of song and music. Each month on the full moon night and on other days, three and seven day's meditation camps are especially held for old and new friends.

Experts and therapists are invited here to lead groups. These groups are very popular with friends and a large number of people take part in these groups. Celebration is a way of life here. The spiritual splendour of Tapoban is at its zenith during Osho Mahotsav - 19 January, Enlightenment Day - 19 March, Guru Purnima Celebration - July and Osho Birthday celebration on 11Decmber every year.

Osholovers have constructed an Osho Samadhi here that is akin to the one at Osho Commune in Pune. Ashes of Osho are kept here in a beautiful structure built of white marble. A stream of running water encircles this structure. Surrounded by mountains and dense forest, here meditation happens effortlessly.

Apart from the spacious accommodation that is provided to Osholovers and friends, one can rediscover his palate with delicacies from continental and local cuisine served at 'Zorba The Buddha' restaurant and 'Sujata Kitchen'. Swami Anand Arun conducts the daily meditation camps and programmes. He is engaged in the work of Osho since past thirty-two years and was the first person in this small country to lay the foundation of this utopia of meditation. Dignitaries that include the Prime Minister among others are regular guests to Tapoban. To sum up in the words of one Swami Brahma Anand from India, "Tapoban is a virgin land, as pristine as the rivulets that run down from the Himalayas. The experience of meditating in this place cannot be expressed in words."
