Osho World Foundation celebrated April 1, with a hilarious twist as Mulla Nasrudin Day in honour of this laughing mystic.
Humour poets Arun Jaimini and Mahendra Ajnabi, known for their wit and lyrical talents regaled the packed galleria with rip-roaring jokes and satires. Arun Jaimini’s jokes were centered mainly on children and the real life issues presented in the form of satires. Swami Satish Satyarthi concluded the evening by conducting laughter meditation followed by silence.
A favourite of Osho in his discourses, Mulla jokes have a deep spiritual message. But who is this Mulla Nasrudin? Replies, Osho, "Born in Iran, Nasrudin is a Sufi mystic, a little crazy, but always tremendously wise.
"To be Mulla Nasrudin means two things: Be foolish in your wisdom and be wise in your foolishness. It is a very great contradiction. Be wise in your foolishness and be foolish in your wisdom. You should be aware of the fact that Mulla Nasrudin is a Sufi device. It is to make you clear that life is wise in its foolishness. And when you try to be wise you become a fool. The greatest wise people are like fools. And the greatest foolish people are those who pretend that they are wise. If you have to choose, choose the fool and you will become wise. Don't choose to pretend wisdom, otherwise you will become a fool."
Osho concludes, "Buddha's message in short is: Be a light unto yourself. And mine? Be a joke unto yourself! Being a joke unto yourself, you will be a bliss for everyone."
No-Mind group was conducted at Oshodham from April 12 to 18, 2008. The meditation camp was facilitated by Swami Chaitanya Keerti. No-Mind Group Therapy was invented by Osho. No-Mind is a seven day process, lasting two hours everyday.
Osho first introduced the No-Mind meditation as part of his evening discourses on Zen. Later on, it became a group process, lasting for seven days. Here is an excerpt from the talk where Osho first introduced the meditation: The first part is gibberish. The word 'gibberish' comes from a Sufi mystic, Jabbar. Jabbar never spoke any language, he just uttered nonsense. Still he had thousands of disciples because what he was saying was, "Your mind is nothing but gibberish. Put it aside and you will have a taste of your own being."
Out of this will arise the second part, a great silence in which you have to close your eyes and freeze your body, all its movements, gather your energy within yourself. Remain here and now.
In the third part I will say, let go. Then you relax your body and let it fall without any effort, without your mind controlling. Just fall like a bag of rice. Each segment will begin with a drumbeat...”
Each day started with Dynamic meditation, and concluded with Evening Sandhya Satsang.
Friends and disciples came from abroad participated in this group. Few Friends were initiated into sannyas. The camp concluded with blissful celebration.
