AN EVENING DEDICATED
TO LAUGHTER
 |
|
 |
Osho
World galleria was rocked with uproarious laughter,
on April 01, when April fools day, celebrated as Mulla
Nasruddin day, in honour of the laughing Sufi mystic
popularized by Osho in his discourses was inaugurated
by popular Hindi humour poets Yusuf Bhardwaj, Rajesh
Chetan and Poetess Ritu Goyal
The
humour poets regaled the audience with their witty
and humorous compositions.
At
6 p.m. every evening from 1 to 7 April, Osho World
Galleria will be rocking with laughter as Osholovers
will share rip-roaring jokes of the Mulla. A favourite
of Osho in his discourses, these Mulla jokes with
a deep spiritual message will also be related on tape
in the inimitable style of Osho. It will all add up
to an hour of uninhibited laughing meditation that
has proved so popular at the Galleria.
Maquettes
of Mulla cast in Bronze created exclusively for Osho
World galleria by famous sculptor K.S. Radhakrishnan
captures Mulla Nasruddin in an array of moods and
gestures are on display at the galleria.
But
who is this Mulla Nasrudin? Replies, Osho, “Born
in Iran, Nasrudin is a Sufi mystic, a little crazy,
but always tremendously wise.
“To
be Mulla Nasrudin means two things: Be foolish in
your wisdom and be wise in your foolishness. It is
a very great contradiction. Be wise in your foolishness
and be foolish in your wisdom.
You should be aware of the fact that Mulla Nasrudin
is a Sufi device. It is to make you clear that life
is wise in its foolishness. And when you try to be
wise you become a fool. The greatest wise people are
like fools. And the greatest foolish people are those
who pretend that they are wise. If you have to choose,
choose the fool and you will become wise. Don't choose
to pretend wisdom, otherwise you will become a fool.”
Explains
Osho, “Mulla Nasrudin is a simple man with utter
purity -- every act in his life is full of wisdom,
but on the surface looks a little crazy. He belongs
to the same category as Bodhidharma, as Mahakashyap.
But he is a little more eccentric than any of them.
Who has recognized Mulla Nasrudin? Very few people.
Who has recognized Mahakashyap suddenly laughing?
Only Gautama Buddha. Ten thousand monks were present
but nobody could understand this eccentric behavior.
But it was arising out of the empty heart, from a
clarity of vision. Only another man of the same clarity
can understand it.”
Osho
concludes, “Buddha's message in short is: Be
a light unto yourself. And mine? Be a joke unto yourself!
Being a joke unto yourself, you will be a bliss for
everyone.”

CEREMONIAL BOWLS”,
CERAMIC EXHIBITION LAUNCHED BY VETERAN ARTIST DEVI
PRASAD
“Ceremonial Bowls”, a collection of ceramics,
was launched by Shri Devi Prasad, renowned veteran
master studio potter, at Osho World galleria, Ansal
Plaza, New Delhi, on 10th April 2005 at 6.00 pm.
“Ceremonial
Bowls”, is the celebration of artistic expressions
and for the first time 4 studio potters, Dipalee Daroz,
Ela Mukherjee, Rahul Kumar and Abhay Pandit, have
displayed their creations together at Osho World.
Shri
Devi Prasad, expressed his wonder at the collection
of ceramics displayed at the galleria and said that
he feels shy to say that he was unaware of such a
serene and beautiful place existing in Delhi. He expressed
his wish to hold his own ceramic exhibtion at Osho
World galleria at some point of time. Shri Prasad,
congratulating the artists said that pottery should
not just be a mere piece of art but should have its
utility as well.
Osho, the enlightened master has given many discourses
on creativity as an expression of meditation. Osho
says, “Meditation brings your creativity to
an expression. Whatsoever is hidden in you will become
unhidden; whatsoever you are carrying within you will
be sung, will be danced -- whatsoever it is.”
Osho says, creativity is not something that can be
confined to painting, dancing, music or arts, it is
an attitude. Bringing out the essence of creativity,
Osho shares, “Creativity is the quality that
you bring to the activity you are doing. It is an
attitude, an inner approach -- how you look at things.”
“Creativity
means loving whatsoever you do -- enjoying, celebrating
it, as a gift of God!”
Apart
from artifacts and creative splendor, Osho world galleria
houses at all times, Osho discourses in the form of
books, audios in tapes, ACDs and MP3CDs, videos in
VHS, VCDs and DVDs, Osho World monthly magazines and
music from the world of Osho.
“The only way to be one with the creator is
to be in some moment of creativity, when you are lost.
The potter is lost in making his pottery; the potter
is lost while working on the wheel. The painter is
lost while painting. The dancer is lost; there is
no dancer, only the dance remains. Those are the peak
moments, where you touch God, where God touches you.”

OSHO WORLD CELEBRATES MAHAVIR
JAYANTI
Osho World celebrated Mahavir Jayanti at
the galleria on 22nd April 2005 by dedicating melodious
evening with renown Violin player Asghar Husain.
Osho’s
love for Mahavir is conspicuous by the volume of discourses
He has spoken on Mahavir. In His discourses, Osho
says, Mahavir was a very unique and rare flowering,
a rare fragrance.
“Mahavir spoke out of his inner silence. His
words are the most wonderful ever spoken.”
Osho
brings out the essence of Mahavir through a beautiful
story, “wherever he moved, for miles around
life would become more alive. And he was an inactive
man. He would simply stand or sit under a tree, for
hours, for days, but for miles life would start throbbing
with a new rhythm. It is said that trees would bloom
out of season; trees would start growing faster than
ever; dead trees would start producing new fresh leaves.”
“Mahavir was such a pool of energy, such an
overflowing of energy, such an overflowing of God,
that wherever he was, life would move faster. A speed
would happen to all the existence around him. He would
not be doing anything but things would start happening.”
Osho
World dedicates this day to Mahavir through meditation
and celebration.
For
Violinist Asghar Husein, music runs in his blood.
At the tender age of ten, he started learning Violin.
His father Ustad Anwar Husain was a famous table player
of his time, thus, the rhythm comes to him naturally.
Having equipped himself in the art of violin playing.
Asghar took his initial training from Ustad Gauhar
Ali Khan and afterwards he became the disciple of
violin wizard Ustad Zahoor Ahmad Khan of Delhi Gharana
to satisfy his quest to final new horizon & learn
more and more. At present, he is learning under the
able guidance of Ustad Iqbal Ahmad Khan, the famous
vocalist & head (KHALIFA) of Delhi Gharana. Ustad
Sahab’s teaching has given Asghar’s violin
a new dimension that depicts fine blend of “Gayaki
Ang” & “Tantrakari Ang”.
