Clay with a Soul

“The only way to be one with the creator is to be in some moment of creativity, when you are lost. The potter is lost in making his pottery; the potter is lost while working on the wheel. Those are the peak moments, where you touch God, where God touches you.”

Osho World Galleria opened “Clay with a Soul”, an exhibition of Studio Pottery from the 3rd of September, 2010, in a continuation of the series of Art exhibitions that is being organized over the years. Clay with a Soul is a show by artist Meena Vohra. Renowned Sculptor K.S Radhakrishnan launched the exhibition at 6.00 pm on Friday, September 03, 2010. The show will conclude on 20th September.

The Galleria is known as a center of innovative high-fired stoneware - in a combination of functional as well as sculptural ceramics. On display are the works of several artists – both the seasoned, well known and the promising, up-coming ones.

“Clay with a Soul” is an extension of the Galleria’s endeavor to bring aesthetics and art to our daily life, providing pottery for everyday use, to serve food and drink as a ritual of sharing and celebrating the small things in life, to bring festivity to every moment of our lives– the whispering of wind through the bamboos, the tinkle of a chime, the warmth of togetherness. . .

The exhibition showcases diyas, oil-burners, bowls, platters, Vases & Urns, Incense holders, Bells & chimes. The pieces explore various glazes in aqua hues of blue & green and the earthy tones of beiges & brown, also is the remarkable use of certain nude shades of ivory & whites. The use of patterns such as bamboo, waves & ripples and simple lines along with the play of colors create a very ‘Zen’ appeal for each of the piece.

Krishna Week celebrations

As the elusive monsoon, sun and the clouds play a naughty game of hide and seek, Osho World celebrated the pitter patter of raindrops in praise of the Lord of Love- Krishna, as Krishna week.

Eminent Odissi dancer, Padma Vibhushan Sonal Mansingh, inaugurated “Krishna Week” on August 26, 2010 at 6.30 pm with a “Baithak” (dance excerpts) depicting various moments and episodes from the life of Lord Krishna.

The evening began with lighting of the lamp by Sonal Mansingh, followed by a discourse on Krishna by Osho. Osho’s discourses on Krishna and the Geeta, titled “Geeta Darshan” in 8 volumes has been a best seller and very popular with the youth. This series of talks in the form of books and audio has had maximum downloads over the last 10 years on www.oshoworld.com. True in the sense that Osho, in his discourses, 30 years ago, said that the relevance of Krishna lies in the future.

“Krishna is utterly incomparable, he is so unique. Firstly, his uniqueness lies in the fact that although Krishna happened in the ancient past he belongs to the future, is really of the future. Man has yet to grow to that height where he can be a contemporary of Krishna's. He is still beyond man's understanding; he continues to puzzle and battle us. Only in some future time will we be able to understand him and appreciate his virtues.”
