APPO DEEPO BHAVA (Be a light unto yourself)
“Our so-called religions are based in fear. Buddha's religion is based in an inner benediction. We worship God because we are afraid, because we don't know what to do with our lives. We are continuously trembling, scared -- death is coming and we don't know what to do, how to protect ourselves. We need a protector. It is out of fear. Buddha's religion is based in an inner benediction, in an inner blessing -- it has nothing to do with fear.

SANNYASIN
A SANNYASIN is a miracle. He is one who is turning towards himself--the energy is moving back towards oneself.
“A
SANNYASIN is one who has come to understand the futility
of so-called worldly life. A SANNYASIN is one who has understood
one thing -- that something needs to be done immediately
about his own being. If he goes on drifting in the old
way, he will lose the whole opportunity of this life.

WATCHING ANGER
Sun
26 September 2005
There is a Zen anecdote: A student came to Bankei and said: "Master, I have an ungovernable temper -- how can I cure it?"
"Show me this temper," said Bankei, "it sounds fascinating."
"I haven't got it right now," said the student, "so I can't show it to you."
"Well then" said Bankei, "bring it to me when you have it."

INNER VOICE: LEARN TO RISE IN LOVE

Once a man came to Osho and told him about his wife and their life of continuous conflict and quarrels. On hearing this Osho remarked, “it seems you cannot understand each other”.

ART IS INVENTION
“Art is intuitive, more of the heart, more subjective, more intimate.
Science is objective, not intimate at all; it has nothing to do with your intuition or your feeling, nothing to do with your heart. In fact, it has nothing to do with you at all.

THE BODY NOT TO BE SHUNNED
Love your body and seek its friendship. Osho says, “if you wish to go beyond the body, if you wish to rise above it, do not fight with it, harbour no hostility towards it.” The body is not our enemy. It is a wonderful mechanism. The attitude towards the body should be one of understanding and deep sympathy. One should have knowledge enough to protect it and view it with friendliness. It is our fellow-traveller in a long uphill journey, sharing with us our joys and sorrows.

MEDITATION: A Great Mystery
“Meditation is such a mystery that it can be called a science, an art, a knack, without any contradiction.
From one point of view it is a science because there is a clearcut technique that has to be done. There are no exceptions to it; it is almost like a scientific law.

HSIN HSIN MING: The Book of Nothing
Before listening to Osho, I understood Zen as just a collection of incomprehensible riddles, impossible situations, and a few funny stories. Somewhere I thought it must have some hidden meaning, but no one seemed able to solve the puzzle. But then, by a series of lucky “accidents” which constitute my life history, I came to see and hear Osho.
